Online registration through EventsOnline is now open. Registration fees may be paid by AMEX, VISA or MasterCard and a confirmation email will be sent immediately.
Registration fees for the Island Girl Half Marathon Relay INCLUDE the round-trip ferry fee.
The deadline for online registration is midnight on Thursday, September 22nd. Registrations will be accepted on race day provided the race has not reached it's capacity.
Personalized Race Bibs! Don't miss the cut off to get your name printed on your race bib. The cut off date for personalized bibs is Sunday, September 11th. Spectators can cheer you on as you cross the finish line and throughout the course PLUS the fun flip flop bib makes for a great souvenir!
Race Kit Pickup
Race kit pickup takes place at a new location this year - The Runners Shop, located at 180 Bloor Street West (Bloor and Avenue Road).
Pick up dates and times:
Friday, September 23 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Saturday, September 24 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
You may pick up a race kit for a friend if you bring along their confirmation or a letter signed by them.
Race kits will also be available for pick up on race morning on the island HOWEVER, expect a line up and leave yourself plenty of time to pick up your kit, timing chip and drop off baggage.
Venue Information
Getting to the Island is easy! The 10-minute ferry ride from downtown takes you to a tranquil community with an Island way of life. The 550-acre island park made up of several small islands makes for a unique race course and venue.
The Toronto Ferry Dock is located at the foot of Bay Street and Queens Quay, just west of the Westin Harbour Castle. Participants will board the ferry to Centre Island.

Parking
Parking is available one block north at Lakeshore and Bay, one block west on Queens Quay between Bay and York Street, one block east opposite the Toronto Star building, adjacent to Captain Johns restaurant.
Course and Relay Information
Flat and fast, two loop course on Toronto Island. Completely traffic-free!
Each kilometre will be accurately marked and aid stations will be approximately 100 metres within the designated kilometre mark.
The course will remain open for 3 1/2 hours.
Two-Person Relay
Each relay runner will complete 10.5 kilometres of the half marathon course. The relay exchange area is only 800m from the start / finish area (see map below). The second runner will be able to watch the start of the race before walking/jogging to the exchange area where they can wait and enjoy the Caribbean music and atmosphere! At the exchange, runner #1 will pass their timing chip to runner #2 to mark the relay exchange. The first runner will then will have plenty of time to return and watch her teammate finish.
Runner #1 will wear the timing chip and after crossing the mat at the exchange will REMOVE and PASS the timing chip on to Runner #2. If your team neglects to pass off the timing chip there will be no finishing time and your team will not qualify for an award. Volunteers will assist at the exchange area and relay runners will stay to the right of the course to make their exchange.
Each relay participant will receive a unique finishers medal.
The exchange area will also have washrooms and water available.
This is the most hassle free and exciting relay you will ever do!!!
Aid Stations
Aid stations will be located approximately 3K, 6K, 10K, 13K, 16K and 20K and will serve replacement fluid followed by water. Vaseline and band aids will be available at each aid station. Portable toilets will be located at each aid station and at the start and finish.
Race Day Information
Start/finish Line
Dry and secure baggage check will be available. There are plenty of change facilities and washrooms at the start line. Leave yourself time to check your gear.
Post Race Party
The InfraRed Band will be sending off the participants with a lively Caribbean beat. They will keep the party going until the racers return.
Post race food, including tropical fruit and refreshments will be available to all participants.
Awards/Prizing
Finishers in the Island Girl Half Marathon Relay will receive a fun, flip-flop medal!
Prizing will be awarded to the top 5 relay teams overall.
